Distributors expand product range

Power supplies have become an integral part of many distributors' product ranges. Hy-Line, Rutronik and Farnell have new products in their portfolios.

Farnell has added the new NGP800 generation of power supply units to its portfolio.

Farnell has added the new generation of the NGP800 power supply series from Rohde & Schwarz to its portfolio. The series consists of five 2- and 4-channel models with an output of 400 W and 800 W respectively. Outputs can be synchronized, waveform tests performed and data logged for analysis via a 5-inch touch display.

All models offer two or four outputs that can be connected in parallel or in series. Each output can be operated independently and has a synchronized on/off function. In addition to overcurrent and overvoltage protection, further safety functions include power limit protection (OPP) and an overheating cut-out. The maximum output current, maximum voltage and power can be set separately for each channel.

Other features of the device series include output ramp function (EasyRamp), output delay and arbitrary/function generator function (QuickArb). Simultaneous recording of voltage and current at all outputs and remote sampling to improve voltage regulation are also part of the devices' range of functions.

The standard USB and LAN interfaces allow the user to remotely control the power supply units in ATE systems or production lines. GPIB interface, digital trigger I/O, analog input and WLAN are available as options.

Recom converters at Rutronik

Now available from Rutronik: the RPX-2.5 power supply module from Recom.

Rutronik sells the RPX-2.5 power supply module with buck regulator from Recom. The DC/DC converter offers an input voltage range of 4.5 to 28 V and achieves an efficiency of 92%. Supply voltages of 5 V, 12 V or 24 V can be used for operation. The output voltage can be set from 1.2 to 6 V using two resistors; the maximum output current is 2.5 A. The output has pure overcurrent and overtemperature protection and is permanently short-circuit-proof. The power supply module with integrated flip-chip technology is housed in a QFN package measuring 4.5 mm x 4 mm x 2 mm. The module also contains an undervoltage lockout (UVLO) function.

The module's enable pin has an internal pull-up current source and can therefore be operated with open-drain, open-collector, logic gate or switched inputs. The RPX-2.5 is RoHS and REACH compliant and comes with a three-year manufacturer's warranty.

Power supplies from ABB Embedded Power are now available from Hy-Line Power Components. ABB develops and manufactures highly reliable power supplies. These include PoL power supplies, which can convert DC voltages from 14 to 5.5 V in an operating temperature range of -40 to +85 °C at 6 A, as well as DC/DC converters with outputs of up to 1,000 W, output voltages of 0.6 to 60 V and output currents of up to 170 A.

Power supplies from Emtron and Fortec under one brand

Emtron Electronic combines all power supply divisions of the former Fortek Elektronik and Emtron under its umbrella brand. This bundles the product range of ten manufacturers.

As of April 1, Emtron leases the previous business operations of the power supply segment of Fortec Elektronik. All existing contacts will continue to be available to their customers in the new Emtron.
