Georg Schlegel at SPS 2023
Suitable for railroad applications
Schlegel's charging sockets are available in three versions, each with two USB ports from the combinations of USB-A and USB-C: A/A, A/C and C/C.
The USB-A port delivers up to 2.4 A, the USB-C port up to 3 A charging current at 5 V output voltage. This also allows two devices to be charged at the same time. The sockets by Schlegel have a current limitation of the output current for each USB port including short-circuit protection as well as under- and overvoltage protection. The charging sockets can be operated in the temperature range between -40 and 70 °C. At high ambient temperatures, a temperature sensor ensures that the electronics do not heat up too much. It regulates the charging current accordingly or automatically switches off the charging process when the critical temperature is reached. Ventilation slots also ensure continuous cooling. The charging sockets are suitable for use in railroad applications and comply with EN 50155, EN 61373:2011 Class 1B, EN 60077-1, EN 45545-2, EN 60068-2, EN 50121-3-2, IEC 61000-6-3/4 and EBA EMV06 standards for all relevant parts.
