Completely tool-free installation
Lütze has optimized the well-known 'LOCC-Box' family for electronic load monitoring in terms of simplified installation, connection technology and control cabinet performance. The upgrade enables the LOCC-Box to be installed in the control cabinet completely tool-free.
Instead of the spring-loaded terminals usually used, Lütze relies on push-in technology and therefore offers a significantly larger terminal cross-section. Wire cross-sections up to 2.5 mm² with and without ferrules can be connected. Ergonomically arranged blue actuators make it easy to remove the wires. The new modules have a test opening, while the familiar slot for the jumper system continues to reduce wiring work.
The device housing has been slimmed down by a total of 8 mm for even more space and freedom of flow in the switch cabinet. A spring integrated into the module base improves the hold so that the LOCC box sits securely on the DIN rail, according to the manufacturer. Other new features include the rounded design and additional LED functions that provide information on actual and target settings. The new modules are compatible with all previous models and will be available from the first quarter of 2022.
Background: The LOCC box (Lütze Overload Current Control) is used for intelligent overload and short-circuit monitoring. Thanks to its patented tripping behavior along defined characteristic curves, it enables the creation of selective power supplies. In the event of a fault, only the affected circuits are switched off. The system saves faults and thus prevents the same cause of fault from reoccurring the next time it is switched on. Fault diagnosis is carried out via the hardware itself or via gateways to various fieldbus systems.
