Vagner Rego becomes new CEO
Vagner Rego will take up the position of President and CEO at Atlas Copco on May 1, 2024. The Brazilian will succeed Mats Rahmström.
The Swedish company Altlas Copco has appointed the Brazilian Vagner Rego as the future CEO and President of the Group. The Board of Directors elected him as the successor to Mats Rahmström, who has led Atlas Copco since 2017 and will be leaving the company at his own request. The change will take place on May 1, 2024.
Vagner Rego, born in 1972, started his career at Atlas Copco in 1996 in his home country with an apprenticeship as an engineer. In 2006, he took over as Head of Service in the Compressor Technology division in Brazil. In 2010, Rego moved to the Compression Technology headquarters in Belgium, from where he became Head of Marketing and Sales and later President of the Compression Technology Service Division. In the meantime, he also managed the business of the Power Technique customer center in Brazil. He is currently one of Rahmström's four deputies on the Executive Board of the listed company. He has also been Head of the Compression Technology Division since 2017. As CEO, he will work from Stockholm in the future.
Atlas Copco Group is a provider of compressed air and vacuum technology, energy solutions, dewatering and industrial pumps, industrial power tools, assembly technology and imaging solutions. In 2022, the Group generated sales of 141 billion Swedish kronor (around 12.6 billion euros) with around 49,000 employees.
