Intelligent status diagnosis
Siemens and Schaeffler work together
Intelligent condition diagnostics for drive systems is the aim of the collaboration between Siemens and Schaeffler. To this end, an analysis service from Schaeffler is being integrated into the IIoT platform Sidrive IQ from Siemens.
Siemens Large Drives Applications (LDA) and Schaeffler are working together on intelligent condition diagnostics for drive systems. To this end, Siemens is integrating Schaeffler's analysis service for automated bearing diagnostics into its own IIoT platform Sidrive IQ, which enhances drive systems with AI-based analyses and digital content in addition to other functions. The analysis results of the bearing condition are therefore included in the monitoring of the overall motor condition. In the end, the user is provided with automated rolling bearing diagnostics for operating and maintenance decisions.
Electric motors are a driving force in many core industrial processes and rolling bearings, as a central mechanical component, experience all the loads and stresses that occur in the motor. Therefore, rolling bearing diagnostics provides a crucial indicator of the overall condition and reliability of a motor.
With the help of intelligent condition diagnostics from both companies, the operator receives specific information to decide whether the drive system can remain in operation or whether damage is imminent and the bearing therefore needs to be replaced at the next maintenance interval or immediately. This reduces maintenance work and costs, and unplanned downtime can be avoided.
