The provider of database solutions Crate.io and Zühlke are cooperating. Together, the two companies want to drive forward the digitalization of production.

Offering highly efficient solutions for Smart Factory and Industry 4.0 is the goal of the cooperation between Crate.io and the innovation service provider Zühlke. "The manufacturing industry is undergoing a fundamental change towards the fourth industrial revolution. This is made possible by new digital technologies, including our database, CrateDB. Together with Zühlke's in-depth expertise in manufacturing, we will help our customers to optimally implement their digital strategies," explains Eva Schönleitner, CEO of Crate.io.

CrateDB was specially developed to support IoT and machine data applications and optimized for containerized environments. The database solution runs on-premises, in the cloud, at the edge and on-premises. The cloud and edge technologies combined with machine learning and AI applications support smart factory applications by collecting and quickly processing structured and unstructured data - sensor data, images or text. This enables instant time series analysis with unlimited scalability.

The innovation service provider has developed the 'Sense, Analyze and Act in Real Time' concept as a driver for Industry 4.0. It enables a flexible manufacturing process that drives the 'batch size 1' concept and autonomous systems. This can lead to improved Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by minimizing downtime, optimizing set-up times and reducing product defects.
