Pilot program starts in 2018

Einride announces that it is entering into a partnership with the discounter Lidl. Both companies aim to transition to electric, self-driving transportation in order to also reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Sweden by 40 percent by 2035.

In July 2017, the Swedish Ministry of Transport issued a mandate allowing permits for self-driving vehicles on public roads. Einride and Lidl plan to submit a corresponding license application in November 2017. Lidl and Einride plan to roll out the T-Pod pilot program in Halmstad (Sweden) in the third quarter of 2018.
