Bitflux emerged from the Chair of Electrical Drive Systems and Power Electronics of Prof. Dr. Ralph Kennel at the Technical University of Munich in 2016. Its three founders Dr.-Ing. Dirk Paulus, Dr.-Ing. Peter Landsmann and M. Sc. Sascha Kühl have many years of experience in the development of sensorless control methods. During their doctorate at the Technical University of Munich, they developed an innovative pulse injection process and applied for a patent for it.

As Bitflux, they have further developed this process into a software library. With the help of this motor control, companies can significantly increase the robustness of drive systems while reducing the required motor size, the risk of malfunctions and system costs. For Dirk Fedder, Head of Business Unit Drives at Kostal Industrie Elektrik, the acquisition of Bitflux offers the opportunity to further expand the strategic positioning in the field of decentralized drive technology.

Following the takeover, Bitflux will operate under the name Kostal Drives Technology.
