Siemens is also taking over the business premises of Gesellschaft für Industrielle Steuerungstechnik (IST GmbH). Both companies have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. IST develops applications and services in the fields of industrial control, regulation and drive technology as well as electronics and mechatronics, which are used to control production machines. IST GmbH's high-tech products address the entire performance range. The company employs around 50 software developers. With the planned takeover, Siemens is expanding its expertise and development potential for the products, solutions and systems of the 'Factory Automation' business unit in the rapidly growing market for production machines. The aim is to expand the Chemnitz development site as a competence center for motion control in the field of production machines.
