LTI Motion pushes the wind energy sector
With a new wind energy competence center in Unna (North Rhine-Westphalia) and production sites in Lahnau (Hesse) and Shanghai, LTI Motion intends to expand its wind business into a strategic growth pillar.
Until now, the wind energy division, including the production of pitch drive solutions at the Unna site, was part of LTI ReEnergy. In future, the wind business will be fully integrated back into LTI Motion 's core business and production will be relocated to the Lahnau and Shanghai sites. According to LTI, pitch adjustment has always been a classic servo drive task and therefore fits perfectly into the LTI Motion portfolio. In addition, the new wind energy competence center at the Unna site will be responsible for technology development and market cultivation and will continue to expand.
"By establishing an additional supply chain and further production capacities in China, we are meeting current customer needs: A global service presence, shorter delivery times and greater customer proximity are just some of the advantages that customers will benefit from thanks to the new structure," explains Dr. Josef Wiesing, Managing Director of LTI Motion GmbH.
As an addition to its portfolio, LTI Motion will also return to selling the PitchMaster series itself after its previous exclusive partner Moog announced its withdrawal from the pitch business. In the course of strategic negotiations, LTI Motion was able to reacquire the old IP rights to the Pitchmaster series and open up further marketing options.
