The deal, which was announced at the beginning of March and has now been finalized, is intended to enrich Altra's existing range of drives - including mechanical power transmission products such as brakes and clutches - with the expertise of the aforementioned Fortive brands in the field of motion control. This includes servo direct drives, special miniature motors and linear drive technology components.

The new company will continue to be listed on the stock exchange as Altra Industrial Motion Corp (AIMC). The company's headquarters will also remain in Braintree, Massachusetts. In total, it combines 53 production facilities and 20 sales and technical centers around the world.
