Founders are increasingly driving the use of AI

More and more German start-ups are using artificial intelligence (AI) and/or developing products or services based on AI. This figure is 62% higher than in 2018, according to a recent survey by the appliedAI initiative.

The appliedAI initiative of UnternehmerTUM, a platform for the development of innovation, regularly publishes an update of its map, which was first created in 2018. This includes the most important AI start-ups in Germany, selected by a jury, with the aim of documenting relevant developments in the field of AI. "While 132 young companies used AI to a significant extent in 2018 and became part of the AI map, this year there are already 214 - an increase of 62%," says Immanuel Schwall, AI Engineer and project manager of the AI map. All of the start-ups included in the survey also have the expertise to develop AI. Further figures in detail:
