Withstand even high-intensity magnetic fields

Contrinex has expanded its Weld-Immune series of weld-resistant inductive proximity sensors. The factor 1 sensors with 'Condet' technology detect objects in steel and aluminum without reducing the switching distance.

The robust construction of the Contrinex 'S600 Classics' weld-resistant sensors includes an impact-resistant metal housing and a temperature-resistant active face made of a high-strength PEEK polymer. Strong magnetic fields in welding cells or other environments do not affect the sensor's performance. With sizes from M8 to M18 and increased switching distances of up to 8 mm, the sensors offer performance that is directly comparable to their 'S700' full metal counterparts, according to the manufacturer. For applications that are directly exposed to weld spatter, the sensors are available with an 'Activstone' coating. All external sensor surfaces, including fixing nuts and mounting brackets, can be protected against spatter with this coating.
