Intelligent automation

Jumo has put together its automation portfolio on one wall: Sensors for various measured variables, two automation systems, software for process control and visualization as well as a cloud solution, supplemented by engineering services.

With 'Varitron 300', Jumo provides users with a smart solution for simple automation applications.

A new modular hardware and software platform is used in the 'Varitron 500' central processing unit. It is based on a hardware platform with an 800 MHz processor, which can be used as a single, dual or quad-core variant depending on the application. The Linux-based software has a modular structure and enables scalability of performance, memory and interfaces. Operating stations and up to 64 intelligent connection modules can be integrated into the system via Codesys remote target or web visualization.

Varitron 300' is available for simple automation applications. A special feature of the system is a customer-specific configuration and process data editor. Individual applications can also be created using the Node-RED programming environment. The central unit has a USB host, two Ethernet interfaces and an RS485 connection as connection options. Up to 32 wireless 'Wtrans' sensors can be connected via a wireless gateway.

'Jumo Cloud' is a cloud-based application software with a predefined user interface. As an IoT platform for process visualization, data acquisition, evaluation and archiving, it enables access to measurement data via standard web browsers. The 'Smartware SCADA' was developed in parallel. It enables access to measurement data via web browsers and offers functions for process visualization as well as for evaluating and archiving the recorded data.

The browser-based software solution 'Smartware Evaluation' is also celebrating its premiere. It enables the intuitive evaluation and visualization of process data from the 'Varitron' automation system and is installed centrally on desktops, local servers or in the cloud using Docker technology. No additional software or add-ons need to be installed by the user. Once set up, 'Smartware Evaluation' enables an unlimited number of users to evaluate and visualize up to 1500 signals. On the subject of data security: the recorded raw data is securely transferred from the 'Varitron 300' or 'Varitron 500' to a datastore and archived via Rest-API using the data diode principle. The traceability of the recorded data is also ensured in the event of a configuration change or device replacement. Evaluation takes place in a separate area (Dataview) and is supported by tamper detection based on digital certificates, so that verifiable process data can be provided reliably and quickly for critical audits.
