Identification made easy

With the stationary barcode reader 'BCL 200i', Leuze presents another member of the 'BCL' series. It supports guided container and tray identification and is particularly suitable for confined installation situations on the conveyor line.

The 'BCL 200i' is a 1D barcode reader that is parameterized directly in the controller via the GSDML file. The barcode reader is suitable for the detection of 1D codes during guided container reading - regardless of whether they are printed on the label in a fence or ladder arrangement. This also applies to guided tray reading when different running trays are marked with 1D codes in a fence arrangement. It has integrated Ethernet TCP/IP and Profinet interfaces. Worldwide diagnostics are possible with the web-based configuration tool.

According to Leuze, the integrated code fragment technology (CRT) enables even barcodes with a small bar height or a damaged or dirty print image to be read. With the help of the CRT decoder, barcodes can also be read easily at a high angle of rotation. This reduces the number of no-reads and significantly increases system availability.

The stationary barcode reader can be activated by automatic Reflector Activation (autoReflAct) without additional sensors. The scanner points a reduced scanning beam at a reflector located behind the conveyor track. As long as the scanner is pointing at the reflector, the reading gate remains closed. If the reflector is covered by an object, such as a container with a barcode label, the scanner activates the reading process. The label on the container is then read. As soon as the scanner's view of the reflector is unobstructed again, reading is complete.
