Bosch Rexroth
I/O portfolio and safety control
Bosch Rexroth is now launching its own I/O line on the market for the first time. With the ctrlX I/O, the sensor/actuator level is to be seamlessly integrated. In addition, a safety solution has now been added to the portfolio.
The new product is ultimately a functional extension of the ctrlX Core control system and features technology and hardware options such as additional memory and USB or Ethernet interfaces. The I/O module is based on Ethercat. However, Profinet and IO-Link are also supported. A total of more than 30 communication standards such as OPC UA and MQTT are designed to enable seamless connection to IT and IoT systems. By using encoder interfaces and drive modules, small motors and stepper motors can be controlled directly from the I/O level. Machine manufacturers can freely combine modules and extensions. According to Bosch Rexroth, apps tailored to ctrlX I/O from the CtrlX Works software and Engineering Toolbox cover numerous technological functions. The module has the same form factor as ctrlX Core and offers up to 16 I/O points across a width of 12 mm.
Safety on board
ctrlX Safety is based on two components that can be used independently or as a complete system: SafeMotion and SafeLogic. The hardware is very compact. Graphical programming allows the required programs to be created quickly and easily without extensive training. For more demanding applications, the hardware can be expanded with additional I/O modules via the safe fieldbus. The system has flexible interfaces such as digital I/O, ctrlX Safetylink, Safety over Ethercat (FSoE) and Profisafe (in preparation).
