Cybersecurity in the industry
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) is under attack. Cyberattacks on industrial plants can not only cause major damage but also endanger human lives.
Until a few years ago, people thought they were safe. However, in the age of universal networking and Industry 4.0, it is time to actively address these threats. Thomas R. Koehler's presentation makes an important contribution to this. In addition to typical attack scenarios, he will provide solutions and concrete tips for greater security in industry.
Prof. Thomas R. Koehler, Digitalization Expert & Keynote Speaker and Managing Director of CE21 Gesellschaft für Kommunikationsberatung, welcomes you to the presentation "Challenges and solutions when using a large number of wireless devices in a radio-unfriendly factory hall".
Date: November 26, SPS Connect - 10:15 - 10:55 a.m.
About Prof. Thomas R. Köhler
After working in university research and strategy consulting, Köhler developed his own solutions for the "Internet of Things" at the end of the 1990s. He later received a patent for cyber security ("secure transmission method"). With a small team of technology experts from IT and telecommunications, Köhler now works in his company CE21 on security-critical projects for industry, logistics, energy suppliers and the military - independent of manufacturer interests and exclusively in the interests of the customer. Köhler is also the author of more than a dozen books of his own, including the bestsellers "Die Internetfalle" (FAZ book) and "Understanding Cyber Risk" (Taylor & Francis UK/US).
His new book on cyber security will be published at the beginning of 2021, in which the topic of industrial IoT security will be a major focus. Köhler is already known to numerous participants from TV (ntv "Telebörse", Pro7 "Galileo", ARD "Tagesthemen",...) and other media (including Handelsblatt, WELT, NZZ, Der Standard,...) as a technology expert who does not mince his words when it comes to important cyber security issues.
Thomas R. Köhler has taught at various universities in Germany and abroad. At the end of 2019, he was appointed Research Professor and for International Innovation at Hankou University (CN).
