Sensor+Test
Digital trade fair successfully completed
At the digital Sensor+Test 2021, more than 2500 visitors from Germany and abroad came together over three days of the trade fair for the innovation dialog and the first SMSI Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference.
188 exhibitors were on hand at the digital event for sensor, measuring and testing technology. "For us as organizers, for many exhibitors and visitors, the digital Sensor+Test was completely new territory. However, we are very proud that, together with our partners and everyone involved, we were able to pull off the first completely digital event so well. Even if the three days of the trade fair cannot be a fully-fledged replacement for a face-to-face event, overall we were able to significantly advance and expand the digitalization of our leading trade fair," sums up Holger Bödeker from organizer AMA Service.
Participants took the opportunity to find out about innovations at the digital exhibition stands and to make direct contact with exhibitors or arrange meetings via chat functions. The main focus was on the lecture series: Exhibitors showcased their latest solutions and trends in sensor and measurement technology in 50 technology lectures and 91 short presentations.
As expected, the number of visitors (2500) was below that of a face-to-face event (2019: approx. 7000 visitors) - as was the number of exhibitors at 188 (2019: 538). "Nevertheless, we have to be satisfied with the result in the current situation," says Holger Bödeker.
With the first parallel SMSI Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference (May 3 to 6, 2021), Sensor+Test was able to continue its tradition of scientific conferences. More than 220 participants attended the 167 presentations, tutorials and discussions. The next SMSI Conference will take place again in 2023 parallel to the SENSOR+TEST.
The Sensor+Test will take place in 2022 as a face-to-face event from May 10 to 12 in Nuremberg. Parallel to this, there will be a digital part that will disseminate innovations from exhibitors via various channels throughout the year. The special theme is 'Sensors and measurement technology for digitalization'. On the scientific side, the 2022 trade fair will be accompanied by the 21st ITG/GMA Sensors and Measurement Systems Conference.
