The separation of the actual sensor component from the evaluation unit enables a compact design so that the devices can also be installed in confined spaces. In addition to access protection in safety areas, the system enables flexible solutions for autonomously operating units such as robots and self-propelled transport systems. The ultrasonic system is certified in accordance with EN ISO 13849 category 3 PLd. The system's ultrasonic transducers meet the requirements of protection class IP69K, are suitable for outdoor use and can withstand high-pressure cleaning. Their sound lobes with an elliptical cross-section therefore have a large detection range.

The safety architecture is based on consistent two-channel electronics with fail-safe outputs and two microcontrollers that monitor each other. Two sensor units can be connected to one evaluation unit.
