The new Ewon Cosy+ remote maintenance routers from HMS Networks implement a new security concept: the company relies on security mechanisms in the hardware. This allows users to securely access industrial devices from anywhere and carry out commissioning, troubleshooting and programming online. The company has also improved the usability and commissioning of the devices and is focusing on simplicity.

98% of IoT traffic is unencrypted and almost 60% of devices are vulnerable to moderate or even severe cyberattacks, the company cites a report by Palo Alto Networks. Improved encryption algorithms are therefore used for data communication. To ensure that the remote maintenance routers always meet the latest security standards, they use automatic updates of signed firmware via the Talk2M platform. With Talk2M, the Ewon solution offers users a globally available, centralized remote maintenance platform for simple router and access management, including a service level agreement (SLA). The router was developed in accordance with ISO27001 and the entire remote maintenance solution, including Talk2M, is ISO27001-certified.

Together with its partner Nviso, HMS Networks offers Ewon, a remote maintenance solution which, according to the company, has been tested to the highest standards and meets the latest security requirements.
