More flexibility in safety gate operation
Pilz offers eleven new variants for the 'PITgatebox' control unit, which can be used to operate safety gate switches and systems easily. The variants with integrated readout unit 'PITreader' also combine safety with industrial security.
The 'PITgatebox' operating unit is now available in a total of 15 preconfigured variants, which offer various possible combinations of pushbuttons, switches, emergency stop buttons and the 'PITreader' read-out unit for user authentication. This allows users to flexibly implement their individual safety gate application. In addition, the operator uses the control unit to intuitively execute commands such as activating, stopping or acknowledging machines or systems at the touch of a button.
All versions of the operating unit consist of a die-cast zinc metal housing with protection class IP65, which is robust against shock, vibration and collision. Suitable accessories for the operating elements are also available. The operating unit can be mounted on standard profile systems. A 12-pin M12 connection and rotatable end caps ensure simple and flexible installation with minimal cabling effort.
Pilz also offers two variants with integrated read-out unit 'PITreader' to control access authorizations easily via the control unit. These variants combine safety with industrial security. Users receive their individual authorization for access to the machine or plant on a coded RFID key and thus authenticate themselves at the safety gate: the key is read in the read-out unit and access is granted if the appropriate authorization is given. Commands such as stopping, unlocking, locking or acknowledging the machine can also be controlled after authentication. As only authorized persons are granted access, the machine is protected against incorrect operation or manipulation and downtimes are reduced.
