Use in aseptic environments

The Scara robots of the TS2 series from Stäubli have a wash-down-capable hygienic design and will also be available in a Stericlean version in the future.

In the humid environment (HE) configuration with food-compatible oil (H1), the robots also meet the requirements for pharmaceutical and food production. HE stands for Humid Environment. The wash-down versions are particularly protected against the ingress of moisture and are unaffected by cleaning processes with aqueous media. The TS2-100 HE, for example, can cover a working area with a diameter of 2 m and, according to the supplier, can therefore replace delta robots in sensitive food and pharmaceutical applications.

The Stericlean option, which allows the robots to carry out their work in aseptic environments, was previously reserved exclusively for the six-axis series. The fact that the Scaras from Stäubli can enter the aseptic world is due to the completely new, closed design with internal media and supply lines, in which dead spaces have been consistently avoided.
