Stäubli Robotics under new management
Peter Pühringer (pictured) takes over the management of Stäubli Robotics Bayreuth from Gerald Vogt, who, as Group Division Manager, will manage the global robotics business from Stäubli's headquarters in Faverges with immediate effect.
According to the company, Peter Pühringer, an experienced robotics insider, will be responsible for business in the German, Austrian and Scandinavian markets. The 42-year-old engineer trained as a toolmaker before studying automation and process technology. His professional career in robotics began at Robert Bosch GmbH. In 2005, Pühringer moved to Stäubli Tec-Systems in Bayreuth when the company took over the SCARA series from Bosch Rexroth.
As Division Manager Robotics, Pühringer wants to continue the aggressive expansion policy of his predecessor Gerald Vogt and score points in the area of services at the Bayreuth site. Pühringer's goals also include getting pioneering developments off the ground quickly: "It is important to me to further develop our robot range in the direction of new market segments and applications, whereby we are also focusing on the topic of mobile robotics".
