Universal Robots
Record sales in 2021
Universal Robots (UR), Danish supplier of collaborative lightweight robots, reports record annual sales of 311 million US dollars for 2021 - a 41% increase in sales compared to the previous year.
Sales in the fourth quarter were already record-breaking, increasing by 22% compared to the same quarter last year and by 28% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. Kim Povlsen, President of Universal Robots, explains: "Our growth is driven by several long-term trends. These include the ongoing labor shortage and the increasing awareness that automation is the key to higher productivity. Not only are we gaining new customers, but we are also receiving recurring orders from satisfied existing customers who want to expand the use of cobots in their operations."
Universal Robots also expects strong growth in 2022, as Povlsen explains: "By working with more than 1,000 independent partners - including component, kit and application manufacturers, certified integrators and distributors - we are creating innovative collaboration solutions that will help us grow further."
Universal Robots has already installed more than 50,000 cobots worldwide.
