Junji Tsuda is the new IFR President

The International Federation of Robotics (IFR) has elected Junji Tsuda from Yaskawa Electric in Japan as its new president. Tsuda succeeds Joe Gemma from Kuka, who is handing over the position to his successor after two years in office. The new Vice President is Steven Wyatt from ABB.

Junji Tsuda has headed various business areas at Yaskawa Electric with a connection to America since the 1990s. He has been active in the parent company since 2003.

Junji Tsuda has worked for Japanese robot manufacturer Yaskawa Electric since 1976, currently in the role of 'Representative Director Chairman of the Board'. Prior to his election as IFR President, the 66-year-old had already supported his predecessor Joe Gemma from Kuka as Vice President for two years.

Steven Wyatt, the newly elected IFR Vice President, is Global Head of Marketing & Sales at ABB Robotics. Born in Scotland, he has been with ABB since 2010. Previously, he was responsible for marketing and sales for various global companies in the plastics industry.

Steven Wyatt and Junji Tsuda were both elected by the IFR Executive Board. This body is made up of representatives of the national robot associations from the regions around the world, the IFR President and delegates from robot manufacturers and research institutes.
