Yaskawa expands Allershausen site
After a nine-month construction period, Yaskawa has put a new extension with 5,000 square meters of floor space into operation in Allershausen near Munich, thereby expanding its production and storage capacities at the headquarters of the European Robotics Division.
The new hall comprises a warehouse of around 1,600 square meters and a workshop and production area of over 2,000 square meters plus an office building. In future, Yaskawa will build robot welding systems and commission customized industrial robots for European customers from a wide range of industries.
Yaskawa has installed more than 400,000 units to date and is pursuing an ambitious expansion strategy, particularly in Europe: the aim is to become one of the leading manufacturers of industrial robots in strategic focus markets in Europe in the medium term. As part of its current expansion, the Japanese manufacturer has therefore not only built the new premises in Allershausen, but also laid the foundation stone for the company's first European robot plant in Kocevje, Slovenia, in the fall of 2017. From 2018, the first Motoman robots from Yaskawa made entirely in Europe will be manufactured there.
