Hybrid format is purely digital

Planned as a hybrid format, Automatica sprint will now take place as a purely digital event after all. The coronavirus case numbers do not allow for an in-person event.

Automatica sprint was planned as an independent 'subsidiary' of Automatica after the robotics trade fair in Munich had to be canceled last year due to coronavirus. The trade fair concept followed that of a marketplace: a central stand builder, central catering in each hall and uniform stand sizes of 20 to 200 m². The event was to be accompanied by a digital offering, an online platform.

Falk Senger, Managing Director of Messe München: "With the Automatica sprint trade fair concept, we gave our customers planning security right from the start. The format was designed as both a face-to-face and a digital event, so that feasibility was guaranteed."

Automatica sprint will now take place from June 22 to 24 as a digital platform only. According to the organizers, the confirmed exhibitors include Fanuc, Kuka, Bosch Rexroth, Festo, Hahn Automation, Mikron, Siemens, Teamtechnik, Basler, MVTec and VMT.

munich_i under Söder's patronage

For the first time, the munich_i platform will take place alongside the trade fair. It was initiated by Automatica and the Munich School of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MSRM) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Under the motto 'intelligence empowering tomorrow', the newly launched platform on robotics and artificial intelligence aims to provide answers to pressing economic and social questions such as 'How can artificial intelligence make our work easier, safer and more productive?' and 'How can AI be used today to tackle the major challenges in the areas of health, mobility and work?

The centerpiece of munich_i is the Hightech Summit on 22 June, for which the Bavarian Minister President Dr. Markus Söder has assumed the patronage. Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Sami Haddadin, Director of MSRM and holder of the Chair of Robotics and Systems Intelligence at TUM, and Prof. Dr. Alena Buyx, Director of the Institute for the History and Ethics of Medicine and holder of the Chair of Ethics in Medicine and Health Technologies at TUM, summit participants can expect more than 20 presentations on responsible technological change and the interaction of human and artificial intelligence, particularly in the social areas of work, health and mobility.

Participation in the High-Tech Summit is included in the ticket for visitors to the Automatica sprint digital platform. The presentation language is English.
