Hiwin at the Motek

Inka Krischke,

Axles for heavy-duty applications

Hiwin is presenting new bridge axles and cantilever axles for the first time at Motek, especially for heavy-duty applications. In an interactive trade fair model, the heavy-duty axes interact with each other using a wide variety of drive types.

Thanks to their closed aluminum profile, bridge axes are particularly resistant to torsion and bending and are designed for maximum moment loads. Depending on the application requirements, Hiwin manufactures the heavy-duty axes with either a toothed belt, linear motor or rack and pinion drive. With travel speeds of up to 5 m/s and load capacities of 350 kg handling weight, the bridge axes achieve repeat accuracies of up to ±0.005 mm.
Thanks to the high rigidity of the cantilever and the low moving mass, the linear axes are particularly suitable for dynamic applications with high loads in vertical applications. Despite its low weight, the closed aluminum profile of the cantilever ensures high torsional rigidity.
