Mobile Industrial Robots
42 % increase in sales in 2021
Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), a provider of autonomous mobile robots (AMR), recorded a 42% increase in sales compared to the previous year in 2021. In December alone, the company set a new record with almost 300 robots delivered.
The strong growth is due to new industries using AMR for the transportation of heavy and light materials in demanding production and logistics warehouse environments. "Despite the tight supply chains and component shortages, we were able to grow significantly in 2021," explains Søren E. Nielsen, President of MiR. "We are starting the new year with a very good order situation and are convinced that our growth will continue in 2022."
Since the market launch of the first MiR robot in 2015, the Danish manufacturer's transport robots have been used primarily in the automotive and electronics industries: international companies such as Toyota, Ford and Faurecia have been able to optimize and automate their intralogistics thanks to MiR. Demand for MiR robots is also increasing in the logistics and consumer goods industries.
To meet the increasing demand, MiR is planning further recruitment for 2022, with more than 50 vacancies at its headquarters in Denmark and worldwide - including North America, the fastest growing market for the company. The headquarters will be located in the planned Cobot Hub in Odense, which is being built in collaboration with Universal Robots.
