Bonfiglioli cooperates with Schaeffler
A compact solution package for the predictive maintenance of azimuth drives for wind turbines is the result of a long-term development partnership between Bonfiglioli and Schaeffler.
In the jointly developed solution package, Torque Sense and SmartCheck sensors from Schaeffler record torque, speed, vibration and temperature information. This data is transmitted via a gateway and combined and processed using algorithms developed by Bonfiglioli specifically for this application. Users can then use the data on Bonfiglioli's cloud platform.
Using a dashboard that clearly displays the collected information, operators can use the data to continuously monitor the condition of the geared motor. The remaining service life of the drive is also estimated. Abnormal behavior of the azimuth drive is reported, as are critical states. On this basis, the maintenance intervals can be optimized to the actual requirements and necessary repairs can be carried out at the appropriate times. At the same time, the control of the drives can be optimized.
