Smart Panels with Soft PLC under Linux
Grossenbacher Systeme presents a new generation of compact operating panels with soft PLC under Linux.
The Grossenbacher operating panels are based on ARM hardware and contain the Codesys soft PLC including the Codesys Control Runtime Toolkit. As standard, i.MX 8M Mini processors from NXP with four cores and a clock frequency of 1.8 GHz are used on SoM modules. Other i.MX 8 processors are available on request. In terms of memory capacity, 2 to 4 Gbyte RAM and 8 to 128 Gbyte mass storage are available, the latter can be optionally expanded using microSD cards.
The capacitive touch displays are available in seven-inch and 18.5-inch sizes. Gestures such as swiping, zooming etc. are supported. Various options are available in terms of visualization, including Qt-based Visu, EPAM from the manufacturer or web-based visualizations such as Codesys WebVisu. The Linux OS also makes it possible to use other applications on the smart panel. Other communication standards such as OPC UA, MQTT and others can also be implemented.
