Remote Assist supports operators

With the Remote Assist software application, Optima can support operating personnel in solving problems via live video and audio transmission.

Optima's Smart Services can be accessed at any time and any place from any mobile device via a central online platform.

The Remote Assist software application supports the operator in real time when problems occur directly at the machine. The main function is real-time communication to solve technical problems quickly. If a problem occurs during ongoing production, the Optima service expert can join in via live video and audio transmission within a few moments and guide the operator through troubleshooting or carrying out urgently needed work. This is possible via all mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets or augmented reality glasses. Documents such as videos and operating instructions can also be transmitted live.

Digital support instead of on-site use

The company has already been able to test the digital service during the coronavirus pandemic. "Without this tool, it would currently be almost impossible to put some systems into operation," explains Michael Weber, Service Manager at Optima consumer. For example, a system in Poland was recently put into operation in this way. "It is already becoming apparent that Remote Assist will significantly increase the quality and speed of support and eliminate the need for one or two on-site service calls in the future," says Weber.

Remote Assist complements the recently developed Format Change Assistant, which provides support for format changes.
