Motek & Bondexpo 2018
Trade fair duo for assembly and joining
From October 8 to 11, 2018, everything at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre will revolve around assembly automation when Motek and Bondexpo kick off.
For Motek as a trade fair for production and assembly automation and the accompanying Bondexpo as a trade fair for bonding technologies, the organizer - the trade fair company P.E. Schall - is expecting a total of around 1000 exhibitors from 25 nations and around 40,000 visitors. Almost 65,000m2 of gross exhibition space will be available to cover the areas of production and assembly automation, feeding technology and material flow, rationalization through handling technology and industrial handling. As future production will be closely networked with the virtual data world, meaning that handling devices and robots will have to come up with ever new capabilities, topics such as machine learning, digital transformation in production and flexible assembly in terms of variants and quantities will also be covered at the trade fair. The leading assembly trade fair is complemented by Bondexpo, which focuses on modern joining technologies, among other things. This trade fair shows how components and assemblies made of high-tech plastics, CVK, hybrid and composite materials can be assembled efficiently.
Congress 'Modern Assembly'
A novelty this year is the two-day 'Modern Assembly' congress organized by the trade media SCOPE, handling and Computer&AUTOMATION. It will take place parallel to Motek on October 9 and 10. The motto of the first day of the congress is 'Modern automation concepts in assembly'. In practice-oriented presentations, experts from companies such as Omron, Bott, Memex, Kuka and the Zimmer Group will provide an overview of manual assembly concepts, the selection of the right robot and gripper for the respective applications and an outlook on communication standards such as TSN and OPC UA.
On the second day, everything will revolve around 'safe assembly'. Companies such as Pilz, Desoutter and Treston will explain how humans and robots can work together safely in assembly, what needs to be considered when setting up an ergonomic assembly workstation and what the effects of AI, for example, will be on the production and assembly of tomorrow.
Further information and registration can be found on the congress website.
