Robot 'Apas' supports people with disabilities
The introduction of robots into production is changing the working environment and content. How does the division of labor between man and machine work? What opportunities do robots offer for the work of people with disabilities? The 'Aquias' project provides answers.
The 'Aquias' project stands for 'Quality of work through individually adapted division of labor between service robots and severely/non-disabled production employees'. The automated production assistant 'Apas' from Bosch is being used as part of the project. At the industrial service provider Isak north of Stuttgart, it assists people with severe disabilities and various, in some cases considerable, performance restrictions in the assembly of sanitary facilities.
