Predictive maintenance using engineering data
Aucotec shows how the consistent connection of the engineering system can help with the configuration of predictive maintenance (PdM).
Aucotec's database-driven Software Engineering Base (EB) can be used as a central source that supplies both the PdM and the control system with relevant data in parallel. The correct interpretation of the measured status data is a prerequisite for the analysis. To do this, however, the PdM system must first understand that the value x for signal y means, for example, a certain pressure at a certain sensor and not a temperature. With the new solution, the PdM receives this knowledge directly from the EB software platform. Previously, the engineering information had to be read into PdM manually or via lists and various interfaces. The connection to the PdM is possible because EB can display abstract objects, for example measurement types such as bar or degrees Celsius, which are categorized below a sensor. Without a database basis, such information cannot be mapped; it does not appear in circuit diagrams or P&IDs. The specifications in EB can be used simultaneously for the control system and PdM configuration. This means that the PdM system can always interpret the live data without any additional effort.
