Hanover Fair 2017
The new products from Siemens
Discover the value of the Digital Enterprise - this is the motto of this year's Siemens presence at the Hannover Messe. We present the first new products that the company has in store.
At Hannover Messe 2017, Siemens wants to show how industrial companies of all sizes can benefit from the digital transformation. Using numerous practical examples, visitors will learn about the competitive advantages made possible by merging the virtual and real worlds. The examples range from intelligent energy management systems and individualized food and pharmaceutical production to industrial additive manufacturing based on innovative automation and drive technology. The company is also driving forward the expansion of its cloud-based, open IoT operating system MindSphere with new partnerships, interfaces and apps.
Among other things, Siemens will use a production machine at the trade fair to demonstrate the electrical engineering planning of a control cabinet based on a "digital twin", equipped with components fully integrated in the TIA Portal for automatically controlled production and for recording energy and system data and connecting it to MindSphere. The company will also be showcasing another example of digital energy distribution with the Sivacon S8 low-voltage switchgear. Communication-capable switchgear and motor controllers can be operated and monitored via software. The data is available for higher-level automation and energy management systems or for cloud-based analysis systems.
In addition to the main stand in Hall 9, Siemens will be presenting its portfolio of PLM software in Hall 6, in close cooperation with its partners. In Hall 24, real applications from a wide range of industries can be seen with gearboxes and couplings from the Flender product family.
