Development of production lines
Siemens cooperates with Nissan
Together with Nissan, Siemens is developing production lines for the new all-electric Nissan Ariya in Tochigi, Japan.
The car manufacturer is already using the software portfolio from Siemens Digital Industries to optimize design and production. The end-to-end digital processes enable Nissan to connect information sources across PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) platforms.
The system architecture of the newly developed electric powertrain of the Nissan Ariya now aims to standardize the processing and assembly of the powertrain. It includes the Simatic S7-1500 PLC with integrated safety function and the ET200SP I/O module from Siemens as a One Single Solution (OSS).
In addition, all automation devices are fully integrated in the TIA Portal engineering framework. This enables complete access to the entire digitized automation, from digital planning to integrated engineering and operation.
More intelligent automobiles require more and more powerful electronic control units (ECUs) in the vehicle. The Siemens Sidis Pro diagnostic commissioning system is used on Nissan's new production line for writing data to ECUs and verifying automotive electrical components, as well as supporting inspection processes. The program manages various data with server functions and thus contributes to the digitalization of production lines.
The software can be used for various applications, enabling system standardization. Siemens continues to support Nissan in the digitalization and electrification of its production facilities.
