Servo controller instead of PLC

With the RBD-S+, Groschopp offers a servo controller with a wide range of functions that can replace a PLC in many applications.

The RBD-S+ not only makes operation and motor setup easier - thanks to the integrated Bluetooth interface and an app, it also allows remote monitoring via smartphone or tablet, thereby reducing maintenance and downtimes. The signals can even be received from the control cabinet via an additional antenna. The servo controller can be combined with the company's own servo motors in particular, but also with motors from other manufacturers. With an output of 800 VA, it is almost twice as powerful as its predecessor, according to supplier Groschopp.

It is suitable as a torque, speed or position controller and can be operated with or without a higher-level PLC. The controller has an integrated positioning control with functions for jerk-free, time-optimized positioning. The respective positions can be selected relative or absolute to a reference point. Point-to-point positioning of simple handling systems is also possible. Corresponding path programs can be stored in the controller and called up for the required positioning tasks.

It is also possible to save your own programs for moving to several positions. The controller is equipped with a CAN bus interface for operation with a higher-level PLC. Ethercat and Profinet extension modules are also available. It also has the drive-integrated safety function STO (Safe Torque Off), which prevents the motor from starting unintentionally in accordance with EN 60204-1.
