Rockwell Automation reports sales growth
Rockwell Automation has announced its figures for the first quarter of 2018: The US provider of industrial automation and information solutions achieved sales of USD 1.59 billion, up 6.5% on the same period last year.
Organic sales growth at Rockwell Automation amounted to 5.3% in the first quarter of 2018, which ended on December 31, 2017. Currency effects reduced sales by 2.5%. Disposals reduced sales by 1.3 percentage points.
The Architecture & Software division generated turnover of around USD 747 million in the first quarter of 2018. This corresponds to an increase of 7.3% compared to the same quarter of the previous year (USD 696 million). Organic sales climbed by 4.6 percentage points, while currency effects reduced sales by 2.7%. The operating result amounted to USD 225 million compared to USD 209 million in the first quarter of 2017. The margin increased to 30.1%, compared to 30% in the same period of the previous year.
In the Control Products & Solutions division, sales amounted to around USD 840 million, which corresponds to growth of 5.8% compared to the same quarter of the previous year (USD 794 million). Organic sales increased by 5.9%, currency effects reduced sales by 2.3% and disposals reduced sales by 2.4%. The operating result amounted to USD 131 million (2017: USD 108 million). At 15.6%, the margin is slightly above the previous year's level (13.6%).
