Rockwell Automation takes over Odos Imaging
Rockwell Automation will acquire Odos Imaging, a Scottish technology company that provides three-dimensional time-of-flight sensor systems for machine vision applications.
Rockwell Automation will leverage this technology in the sensor space to expand its existing portfolio for industrial applications, including automotive and general assembly, packaging, material handling and logistics. "This acquisition allows us to expand our portfolio of intelligent sensing and safety products, which are an important foundation for The Connected Enterprise," said Lee Lane, Vice President and General Manager, Safety, Sensing and Connectivity Business at Rockwell Automation.
Odos Imaging, based in Edinburgh, Scotland, was founded in 2010. "We are delighted to become part of Rockwell Automation and remain dedicated to the development of 3D imaging technologies for industrial applications," comments Chris Yates, CEO of Odos Imaging.
