Open standards in intralogistics
Bosch Rexroth and Synaos integrate AMR from K.Hartwall
Bosch Rexroth and Synaos have integrated the autonomous mobile robot 'A-Mate Lite' from K.Hartwall into the 'Synaos Intralogistics Platform'. This is based on the open communication standard VDA 5050, which facilitates the control of mixed fleets.
As part of their cooperation, Bosch Rexroth and Synaos have successfully integrated the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) A-Mate Lite from K.Hartwall into the Synaos Intralogistics Platform. The vehicle uses Bosch Rexroth's VDA 5050-compatible 'Rokit' software and is already in productive use. The project aims to show how the open VDA 5050 standard can be used to control heterogeneous vehicle fleets more easily and flexibly.
The VDA 5050 standard defines a uniform interface for communication between vehicles and fleet management systems. The 'Rokit Navigator' software enables a standardized connection, while the 'Rokit Locator' component ensures precise localization. In combination with the Synaos platform, an open system is created for the use of different vehicle types in a common control system.
"Our Rokit software solutions enable robust, open systems that drastically reduce the complexity of integration," said Jörg Heckel, head of the robotics project at Bosch Rexroth.
The modular approach allows operators to centrally manage and flexibly combine vehicles from different manufacturers. In addition to the A-Mate Lite, the Rexroth 'Active Shuttle' can also be integrated into VDA 5050-compatible systems such as the Synaos fleet management system.
