In addition to a soldered 'Rockchip-RK3368 Octa-Core Cortex-A53 64-bit processor', both models have 2 GB of DDR3L RAM and 16 GB of flash memory. The internal 2.5-inch drive bay with the separately available PHD5 mounting frame can be expanded with an SSD or hard disk. Both models are based on the reliable and widely used Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) operating system. The two models differ in one key aspect - the NS02E does not require a power supply unit and draws power directly from the network via PoE (Power-over-Ethernet), into which it is integrated. NS02A, on the other hand, is supplied with power conventionally via an external power supply unit. Both models have HDMI 2.0, USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet with WOL, audio and Kensington Lock on the rear. WLAN and Bluetooth are also on board. A memory card reader is part of the front section and rounds it off with two USB ports. Playback of 4K content (3840 × 2160 pixels) is possible at 60 Hz thanks to the PowerVR SGX6110 graphics processor and HDMI 2.0.
