Partnership for edge AI systems
Syslogic and Axelera AI cooperate
Chip manufacturer Axelera AI and embedded specialist Syslogic are cooperating in the field of Edge AI. An embedded computer with an integrated Metis M.2 AI accelerator will be presented for the first time at Embedded World in Nuremberg.
Axelera AI and Syslogic have announced a strategic partnership. The aim is to combine AI accelerators for inference applications with robust embedded computers for industrial operating conditions. The collaboration will be presented at Embedded World in Nuremberg.
Axelera AI develops AI accelerators based on the Metis AI Processing Unit (AIPU). The architecture uses a digital-in-memory computing concept that reduces the memory bottlenecks of conventional systems and enables a high performance-per-watt ratio. Syslogic develops embedded computers for applications with high demands on robustness and environmental resistance.
AI accelerators in embedded systems
By integrating the Metis M.2 modules, Syslogic is expanding its portfolio to include AI-capable embedded platforms based on x86. The systems are based on Intel Core i processors of the Raptor Lake generation.
Benjamin Gassler, Product Manager at Syslogic, says: "Axelera AI's in-memory computing architecture is setting new standards."
The M.2 AI accelerators can be integrated into embedded computers that have the corresponding slots. This allows applications such as AI-supported object and person recognition, optical inspection or predictive maintenance to be implemented.
Robust systems for Edge AI use
The embedded computers from Syslogic are designed for industrial environments. Rugged series systems meet protection classes IP67 and IP69 and are intended for applications in construction machinery, special vehicles or agricultural technology.
Bram Verhoef, Vice President - Customer Engineering & Success at Axelera AI, says: "By integrating our Metis M.2 modules into Syslogic's embedded computers, Axelera technology can also be used where the environmental conditions are particularly difficult."
The AI accelerators are integrated via the M.2 form factor, allowing existing embedded platforms to be expanded without fundamental hardware changes.
The partners will present the solution at Embedded World from March 10 to 12, 2026 in Nuremberg at the Axelera AI stand in Hall 5.
