Fast access times and high storage capacities
B&R is expanding the mass storage options for the Automation PC 3100 and Panel PC 3100 industrial PCs. In addition to CFast cards, compact M.2 memory modules can now also be used.
This type of memory is characterized by fast access times and storage capacities of up to 1 TB. 'M.2' memory modules are very compact and are based on 'MLC' technology. Due to their high data throughput, they are particularly suitable for data logging and other data-intensive applications. They also offer significantly more storage space than CFast cards, which means that more data can be written over the runtime.
The 'M.2' memory occupies a predefined interface slot on the industrial PC. It can either be ordered ex works or retrofitted by the user in the field. Together with the two CFast slots, up to three mass storage devices can now be used in parallel in one 'Automation PC'.
