As a member of B&R 's international business development team, Fredrik Holmberg will drive the Medical Device Assembly division forward. The focus here will be on automation solutions for manufacturing in small batch sizes. Many products used for medical treatments consist of numerous individual parts. For example, before a catheter or infusion set can be used, tubes, valves and needles must be assembled - a very complex process that is difficult to automate. Especially when these sets are required in different variants.

"Our hardware and software solutions for adaptive manufacturing offer companies in this sector an excellent opportunity to efficiently automate even small batch sizes," explains Holmberg. "In this context, adaptive means that the machine automatically adapts to the set to be produced without any mechanical changes."

After studying electrical engineering, Fredrik Holmberg worked as a software developer and application engineer before taking on various positions in technical sales at B&R Sweden. During this time, he gained several years of experience with customers in the field of medical device assembly. He now brings this know-how to his new role in B&R's international business development management.
