Faster LAN, better WLAN and a higher clocked processor - these are the improvements that the new Raspberry Pi 3B+ brings. In detail, it differs from its predecessor as follows:
| Raspberry Pi 3 | Raspberry Pi 3B+ | |
|---|---|---|
| LAN | RJ 45 10/100 Mbit/s | RJ 45 10/100/1000 Mbit/s |
| WLAN | 802.11 b/g/n | 802.11 b/g/n/ac (2.4 + 5.0 GHz) |
| CPU | ARM Cortex-A53, 1.2 GHz | ARM Cortex-A53, 1.4 GHz |
Nothing has changed in the other components, so compatibility with the previous generations is guaranteed. To use the new hardware features, you need the latest operating system image, which is available at raspberrypi.org.
The new Raspberry Pi 3B+ is now available from distributors such as Conrad, Farnell, Reichelt and RS Components.
