Young scientists honored

A robotic sparring partner for boxing training, the Internet of Things for the home or a camera that always shoots blur-free films thanks to motors and position sensors - the creativity of the young researchers at the 51st national finals knew no bounds. Now the winners have been announced.

Under the motto "New things come from curiosity", over 12,000 young people across Germany took part in the current round of Jugend forscht. Of these, 191 young people with a total of 110 research projects qualified for the 51st final of the young talent competition. At the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum in Paderborn, the inventors recently presented their projects in the seven subject areas of the world of work, biology, chemistry, earth and space sciences, mathematics/computer science, physics and technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents the ideas and projects with which they were successful this year in a picture gallery:

"This year's impressive competition entries show that the commitment to young talent is worthwhile," said Prof. Dr. Johanna Wanka, Federal Minister of Education and Research and Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Jugend forscht Foundation, at the start of the final. This year's national competition was organized by the Stiftung Jugend forscht e. V. and the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsFourm in Paderborn.
