Abstract

Modern vehicles need more bandwidth for data processing and communication, especially for autonomous driving functionalities. Our research aims to create a Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) environment for zonal architecture car communication, integrating 10Gbps TSN Endpoints and Switches. By combining radar sensor technology with TSN and Precision Time Protocol, our findings significantly enhance vehicle capabilities, promoting safer and more efficient intelligent transportation systems.

The Speaker

Dr. Michael Faulwaßer is with Fraunhofer Institute for Photonics Microsystems, Dresden Germany. He is the head of the business unit “integrated solutions”. Michael Faulwaßer studied electrical engineering and received his Ph.D. about the integration of wireless high-speed transceivers at the TU Dresden, Germany in 2018. His research focuses on transceiver development for high-speed optical wireless data communication as well as IP core and ASIC development for high-speed data communication protocols.
