Abstract

We present a fully virtualized control architecture where Linux-based virtual PLCs communicate deterministically with PROFINET IRT devices via TSN. Using gPTP synchronization and TSN stream isolation, we meet motion control requirements in virtualized environments. The approach retains existing hardware while enabling scalability for larger device networks through software-defined network control.
