embedded world Conference 2023
The connectivity topics of the conference
With almost 200 presentations, the embedded world Conference 2023 offers an extremely varied and extensive program. What is on the program in the area of connectivity?
The embedded world Conference covers nine subject areas. We present the topics in loose sequence. Part 2: Connectivity
Communication protocols are an essential foundation for the Internet of Things - especially if they are standardized and interoperable, efficient and real-time capable as well as secure and reliable. And building on the multiple developments of recent years, protocols are now entering the market that are reaching a new level of quality and are beginning to penetrate the domains of the traditional special standards. Current examples include Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), which will replace many of the proprietary industrial Ethernet protocols on layer 2, and Matter as an overarching standard for home automation on the application layer.
However, many other new developments can also be observed. Wireless communication remains a driver of innovation - both in short-range wireless networks, such as Bluetooth, and in cellular networks around 5G and the extensions already in the starting blocks that will pave the way to 6G. And even the classics of industrial communication, such as CAN or Ethernet, are expanding their technology portfolio step by step.
